Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 สำหรับ Windows Vista คลอดแล้ว
หลัุงจากปล่อยข่าวให้ผู้ใช้ชะเง้อรอ WMDC 6.1 นี้ซะหลายวัน ตอนนี้ที่เว็บไซท์ของ Microsoft ก็ได้ปล่อยโปรแกรม Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 สำหรับ Windows Vista ให้ผู้ใช้ได้ดาวน์โหลดไปติดตั้งกันได้แล้ว เวอร์ชันนี้ก็ไม่ได้มีอะไรใหม่นัก ส่วนใหญ่จะเป็นการแก้ไขบั๊กของ WMDC 6.0 รุ่นก่อนหน้านี้ที่ทำให้ผู้ใช้ Pocket PC / Pocket PC Phone / Windows Mobile SmartPhone บ่นกันระงม และในเวอร์ชันนี้ก็ได้มีความสามารถการ Synchronize ไฟล์ระหว่าง WMDC และ SmartPhone เพิ่มขึ้นมาอีกด้วย ผู้ใช้ SmartPhone คงจะได้เฮกันเสียที หลังจากที่ความสามารถพื้นฐานนี้มีแค่ Pocket PC และ Pocket PC Phone เท่านั้น
สำหรับ WMDC 6.1 หรือ Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 นี้จะใช้กับเครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์ระบบปฏิบัติการ Windows Vista เท่านั้น ไม่สามารถใช้กับเครื่องระบบปฏิบัติการก่อนหน้านี้ได้ แ่ต่สามารถใช้ร่วมกับอุปกรณ์ที่ใช้ระบบปฏิบัติได้ตั้งแต่ Windows Mobile 2003 จนถึง Windows Mobile 6 ได้อย่างไม่มีปัญหา จุดเด่นๆ ก็มีเพียงความสามารถแสดงผลอีเมล์แบบ HTML ได้และสามารถ Synchronize ไฟล์ต่างๆ กับ SmartPhone ได้แล้วเท่านั้น
