teach me how to install ,i'm newbie to linux. cant install any programs.

xandros linux (came with eeePC)
I trying to install games emulators like DOSBOX ,FCE ,Znes cannot install any programs. help I wanna play GAMES GAMES GAMES!! WAHHHHHH!

cannot run screen capture and run or insstall any programs.
... error message is could not find mime type ,application/octet-stream" seems to have 2 (or more problems now.)
(can reply in thai language ,only I cant type thai .)
